Monday, Nov 2 at 6-8pm The Kiwanis Club of Manitou Springs proudly hosts writer and historian, Mike Maio from the Manitou Springs Heritage Museum for his presentation, “The Moffat Road-Part 1”.  The presentation will be held at the Community Congregational Church in Manitou Springs at 23 Pawnee Avenue.

From 1880 until his death in 1911, David Moffat served as a financier, board member and president of several railroads, including the Denver, Northwestern and Pacific Railroad and later, the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad. Mr. Maio’s presentation explains the role of the Moffat Road in the development and construction of Rollinsville, Tolland, the Moffat Tunnel, and the Towns of Corona and Arrow through an exciting presentation of images and artifacts.
