The Manitou Springs Heritage Museum will launch a new Winter exhibit on February 15th called “Ski Areas of the Pikes Peak Region”. The exhibit is a collaboration with the Colorado Snowsports Museum in Vail, who provided some amazing historic photographs. Some Ski Areas in the Pikes Peak region like the Pikes Peak Ski Area and Ski Broadmoor were successful for many years. Other Ski Areas were planned but were never operational. From the 1920s through the 1990s, this exhibit tells the stories of the skiing Pioneers who were dedicated to promoting the sport of skiing within the Pikes Peak Region.
