Audience participation is encouraged to help Bill tell the stories. \nTickets are FREE but registration is required for event planning purposes. Register now!

DESCRIPTION:The Manitou Springs Heritage Museum hosts local runner\, racer\, mountaineer and historian Don Sanborn and his presentation\, “A History of Skiing on Pikes Peak”.  This is a private event given to the local history interest group of the Colorado Springs branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women). \nThe presentation will cover the evolution of skiing on Pikes Peak from 1929 – 1984\, including but not limited to: \n– Edlowe Ski Jumping Area & formation of the Silver Spruce Ski Club\n– Glen Cove Ski Area & formation of the Pikes Peak Ski Club\n– Elk Park (Pikes Peak Ski Area)\n– Holiday Hills Ski Area \n
