Hiawatha Gardens: The Soul of Manitou Music

The Manitou Springs Heritage Center proudly announces a presentation, “Hiawatha Gardens: The Soul of Manitou Music,” by Deborah Harrison and Beau Schriever. Ms. Harrison is a local historian and author as well as an advocate for local historic preservation. Mr. Schriever is an archeologist and regional historian. Learn about the history of the original Hiawatha Gardens that served as a historic gentleman’s resort, beer garden, casino, ballroom, concert venue, and restaurant starting in 1890 when it opened. Experience the music of the era, learn about the performers and the magnificent dance floor “where dancing is entrancing.”
